Since 2002
We’ve worked side-by-side with business students and religious organizations, environmentalists and interracial adoptees to open the doors and show the real China. Our ChinaContact guests get the best of both worlds – trips to major landmarks such as The Forbidden City and The Great Wall, but also personalized site visits to places and people relevant to their professional interests. We handle the logistics. You do the learning.
What makes us unique is our placement in a long and storied tradition of Jesuit education, one that teaches us that true cultural engagement first starts with friendship. ChinaContact and The Beijing Center provide a unique environment for students from all over the world to begin their engagement with China.
All of our pupils quickly learn that everything has a story, even the dumplings we eat together. ChinaContact is the same!
In 2002, after four years of The Beijing Center (TBC) semester students, TBC wanted to encourage the quickly-growing interest in China. Semester students traveled for a minimum of three weeks on TBC Excursions, not to mention their own time on weekends on holidays, and took classes with great enthusiasm while weaving through Beijing’s crowds and history. The expertise of the staff and faculty were like no other, and students were getting truly amazing opportunities.
2002 was also the year TBC moved into the location it is now, on the grounds of the University of International Business and Economics, where it has its own classrooms, office space, and library to offer guests and learners of all kinds. With a more solid foundation, our founder Ron Anton had the idea to offer the boundless unique opportunities of TBC to short-term learners – professors, businessmen, high school students, and anyone else who wasn’t a currently enrolled undergraduate student with enough time to spend an entire semester in China. With that, ChinaContact was born.
For over two decades, ChinaContact has introduced over 400 different groups to the real China, not to mention our repeat customers. For some, we’re an annual tradition. For others, we’re the first outstretched hand. For all of our friends, we’d like to be where you learn more about the world – and yourself.
Take lessons throughout the trip, as a focus of the journey, or not at all: we’ve got you covered.
We plan from wheels down to wheels up and everything in-between.
We’ll fit your program to your budget and expectations of your team.
China is your oyster and each trip is customized to the theme of your program.
Cultural touchpoints and site visits relevant to your industry: embassies, companies, factories, hospitals, and schools, just to name a few.
We have university faculty for classes and location visits to give important insights.
It’s not a holiday. From getting your board to understand Chinese work culture to enhancing the educational experience for your students, we will help you achieve your learning outcomes.
One thing we love doing is creating video recaps of trips for our groups.
